And my god have I and the rest of the Tucker Motorsport team been waiting a long time for this weekend to finally arrive! Apparently someone called Rona delayed the season slightly!
Looking back to March, preparation for the season was all complete and a shakedown test day at Silverstone had been extremely positive, but there was much uncertainty about the 1st race weekend of the season, with the realisation of the global pandemic becoming more apparent and felt across the nation. The BRSCC took the only decision they could and cancelled the 1st 4 rounds of the season.
Lockdown gave us the opportunity to make sure no stone has been left unturned before the restart of the season, and with 2 test days conducted at Oulton Park and Cadwell Park before the new season opener this weekend, the mood is extremely positive!
The car for this year remains relatively unchanged, with the success seen at Anglesey and Snetterton last year, hopes are high for further improvement throughout this year. However. Externally things look a little different, with the car having a complete makeover ready for the 2020 season.
A brand new paint job courtesy of our friends at Airborne Graphics and Designs, along with the addition of a new vinyl design, the car will definitely stand out even more than it did last year! And if that wasn't enough, thanks to BH Designs and Dash Helmet Designs, I personally have a new look for this year as well! (All the gear...)
Also rejoining in supporting me for the 2020 season are EPTA Project, High Row Marketing, CN signs and Ice Driver, all making appearances on the car!
Looking back at last year, 2019 was the 1st time I had the opportunity to race around Cadwell, and preparation for the weekend wasn't ideal with only 1/2 a day trying to learn the circuit before the race weekend. It was always going to be a tough weekend. The 1st 2 races of the weekend resulted in an 11th and 12th place finish, but the final race threw up a nice surprise finishing 5th, after benefitting from an incident in front on the opening lap!
As for this year, due to the compressed calendar there will only be Qualifying and 2 races per weekend adding to the importance of strong and consistent results throughout the weekend! Attached below is the timetable for the weekend, where all the action can be followed on TSL Live Timing.
It looks set to be a warm weekend and with a packed grid of 48 cars entered, it looks like it will be a fun and action packed weekend to get everyones eye back in!
