It has been very very long winter, 7 months have passed in fact, since the final round of a whirlwind 2020 season, but we are finally back building up to the 1st race weekend of the season.
Once again I am returning to the BRSCC Mazda mx-5 championship, running with the championship winning Tucker Motorsport team, as we aim to keep the momentum that we built through last year into 2021.
The winter hasn't been all about relaxing though ready for the next season, there has been plenty of work go on in the background, refreshing the car and giving it some TLC after an intense 2020. But now we are ready and raring to go, with a new look thanks to Airbourne Graphics & Signs.
The car is not the only thing that has had a bit of a makeover for this year, thanks to EPTA projects joining for another year alongside Performance One Clothing, I will be rocking a new race suit for this year as well as team wear.
Onto the actual season as this year is a 7 round championship that starts with Croft this coming weekend, followed by rounds at Silverstone, Anglesey, Snetterton, Cadwell Park, Donington Park and Brands Hatch, completing a 21 race long championship all streamed live on Youtube via the BRSCC page.
The Croft weekend sees the return of the 3 race format from 2019, however this season there looks to be no A & B grids, with all of the entrants racing in the same race, making it far easier to follow the action.
The key times for the Mx-5 championship throughout the weekend are as follows:
Saturday:
Qualifying: 11:15 - 11:35
Race 1: 15:25 - 15:45
Sunday:
Race 2: 14:10 - 14:30
Race 3: 16:00 - 16:20
All the action will be streamed on YouTube and on the BRSCC Website, as well as live timing and event results being posted on TSL via the following links:
Hoping for a fun and action packed weekend on track and smiles all round!
See you on the other side!
Jack
