Round 2 Silverstone Preview

Its hard to know where to even start after Round 1 at Croft, Pole Position, 3 Wins and a lap record is something I definitely wasn't expecting going into the first round of the season. But now all of that is in the past and we move on to Silverstone, a circuit that always breeds extremely close racing, and one that has always been extremely enjoyable!

Having originally planned to have already raced at Silverstone on the International Circuit back in March before COVID continued to provide delays to the sporting world, we move to what originally would have been round 4 of the championship on the National circuit.

The National circuit on the face of things is a fairly simple circuit, with only 4 actual corners and a very short lap, only Brands Hatch Indy being shorter on the 2021 calendar. However, due to there being so few corners, and with 3 out of the 4 being followed by long straights, any mistake is likely to be heavily punished and with plenty of overtaking opportunities, anything can happen.

Last time we visited Silverstone, 0.08 away from crossing the line in P1

Our last visit to Silverstone feels like a very long time ago, having come so close to my first win at the time, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory with 2 corners to go, safe to say, lessons have been learnt since then!

Hoping for more of the same at Silverstone

Onto this season and once again we have 3 races, all of which are on the Sunday due to the Fun Cup race happening throughout all of Saturday afternoon, making for a very busy and action packed day on Sunday for the Mx5's.

Qualifying starts at 10:45am on Saturday, with the racing starting at 10:00am on Sunday for Race 1, 12:15pm for Race 2 and 14:40 for Race 3.

All of the racing will be shown live on YouTube again, and the live timing on TSL via the links below.

See you on the other side

Jack
