No chance to breathe as straight after round 6, Donington Park is already upon us, and somehow the 2nd to last round of the season already :(
At the start of the year if you told me that I would have got 6th, 7th and 8th at Oulton Park I would have snapped your hand off for it, however, heading into round 7 there is a slight feeling of needing to bounce back from the Oulton results.
Thankfully, I get to spend this weekend on my doorstep, being only a 10 minute drive from the circuit itself, Donington is technically my home circuit, although this weekend will mark the 1st time I have ever completed laps of the Grand Prix circuit, adding a new challenge for this year!
2016 was my 1st visit to Donington with the Mazda's, but with the car being fairly badly damaged from my Oulton Park incident, it was never really a true representation of how awesome these little cars are around the fast and flowing circuit! 2018 came around and the racing was far better, and the results were promising as well until the last race of the weekend and indeed the season...
2018's round at Donington park brought my 1st ever DNF, after an incident the lap before involving 2 cars running at the back of the A group, as the lead group went up the hill towards Coppice everything went wrong and I unfortunately joined what looked like an Mx-5 grave yard in the gravel, after we all took to the scenery sliding on the oil that had been laid down.
